MM2 Modern Dance presents Circle of Seven at Solow Fest

7 dancers, 7 choreographers, 7 solo performances

MM2 Modern Dance Company returns to SolowFest for its second year on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 2pm with a FREE performance at the Goldilocks Gallery, 2nd

floor, 723 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

This year the company will be featuring 7 dancers, 7 choreographers and 7 solo performances by Jessica Bryan, Jenna Faye Eugenides, Kaylee Goodwin, Jillian Ikeler, Jennifer Laucella, Alison Liney, and Brianne Scott. Executive Director, Steven Weisz, goes on to add “it gives all of our company members another opportunity to explore the choreographic process without restrictions and the ability to pursue movement and material that is of personal interest to each of them.”

Brianne Scott offers a discourse on overthinking and how it clouds the brain, while Alison Liney constructs a piece on how she would rather recollect a life misspent on fragile things than spent avoiding moral debt. Jenna Faye Eugenides explores knowing that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle with Unstoppable.

Jillian Ikeler will present movement based on a haiku poem by Misuta Massa hidee “Barn’s Burnt down, Now I can see the moon”. It is about finding the balance in life and accepting the nature of Yin and Yang.

There will be much more and perhaps even some spontaneous improvisation by the entire group as well!

The performance is absolutely free to the public but seating is limited. Standing is unlimited. But if you need that seat, you can RSVP at http://bit.ly/1x0X6LO
